The fourth collection by Magic Circus Éditions was made possible by the brand’s alliance with Venini glassworks. Widely recognised as one of the greatest representatives of Murano glass artistry since it was founded in 1921, the company has lent the talents of its glassworkers to some of the most prominent names in art and design, from Ettore Sottsass to Tadao Ando. Now collaborating with Marie-Lise Féry, founder of Magic Circus Éditions, this artistic craft shapes jewel-like lights. With pointed ends evocative of diamonds, a shape as light as a balloon, and a design that suggests a delicate piece of confectionery streaked with shimmering, colourful stripes. Each glass sculpture is mounted on a specially-crafted fluted stem, symbolising the string of the balloon tethering it into the sky, further accentuating the dramatic quality of the object. With its airy design, almost like a mobile suspended in mid-air, Balloon infuses its surroundings with magic: an ode to fantasy and enchantment.
